Associate Attorney

<p>Description</p><p><strong>McMichael Taylor Gray, LLC</strong> is seeking an <strong>Associate Attorney</strong> with experience in <strong>New York </strong>foreclosure law to join its expanding <strong>New York</strong> practice. The employee <strong>MUST BE BASED IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK</strong>. The ideal applicant will be a career-oriented professional with <strong>at least three years of experience</strong> representing creditors in foreclosures and/or title proceedings, or a strong desire to learn these practice areas. Creditor-side bankruptcy experience is a plus, as is litigation experience. The applicant must have the ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, communicate professionally at all times, be effective working independently and as part of a team, and provide exceptional customer service. Leadership and management skills are strongly preferred.</p><p>Requirements</p><p><strong>Key Job Duties:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide oversight and management of high-volume statewide foreclosure matters.</li><li>Ensure all appropriate actions are taken to expedite the firm’s files.</li><li>Act as a liaison between the firm and clients, vendors, outside counsel, courts, trustees, and other foreclosure personnel.</li><li>Manage files by applicable foreclosure rules and firm-established timelines.</li><li>Work within the firm’s case management system to create, manage, and review daily and weekly reports.</li><li>Review and execute various pleadings and correspondence.</li><li>Maintain accurate updates in client and firm management systems.</li><li>Outline, prepare, and present pleadings and other legal documents.</li><li>Argue the merits of assigned cases at hearings, conferences, mediations, or trials.</li><li>Attend and/or conduct public auctions as needed.</li><li>Review title searches to identify any title issues and to determine the proper parties to serve.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>Minimum Job Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Admitted to practice in New York. Admitted to practice in New York’s federal district courts and/or other states a plus.</li><li>Experience in real estate, mortgage and/or commercial litigation strongly preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, as well as any applicable state and federal debt collection and real property law a plus.</li><li>Experience in foreclosure and real estate law a plus; if none, must be willing to learn.</li><li>Exceptional communication skills (oral and written)</li><li>Ability to travel as needed.</li><li>Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.</li><li>Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document drafting.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.</li><li>Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.</li><li>A portable book of business is a plus.</li></ul><p><em><strong>Salary commensurate with experience.
