Dental Receptionist / Treatment Coordinator

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist / Treatment Coordinator to join our vibrant dental team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing appointment scheduling, patient intake. You will coordinate treatment plans, facilitate communication between patients and the clinical team, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice.

Your energetic approach and excellent organizational skills will help create a positive experience for every patient while maintaining smooth office operations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional front desk experience.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries with exceptional phone etiquette.
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process claims using systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems.
  • Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical history and updating records accurately in Eagle soft.
  • Review and maintain medical documentation, including care plans, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding, and billing processes aligned with HIPAA regulations.
  • Coordinate treatment plans by communicating effectively with patients about procedures, costs, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Perform data entry tasks with proficiency in Microsoft Office and 10-key typing to ensure precise record keeping.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA standards by safeguarding patient information during all interactions.
Skills
  • Proven experience in dental with strong knowledge of dental terminology.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, ability to navigate health information management software efficiently.
  • Knowledge of CPT coding, and Dental terminology essential for accurate documentation review and billing processes.
  • Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette in handling patient inquiries and appointment scheduling.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment; clerical experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel; familiarity with multi-line phone systems required.
