Senior Blockchain Developer

Senior Blockchain Engineer

Company Description

Global Settlement ( globalsettlement.com ) is building the future of digital settlement—an institutional-grade blockchain network designed to seamlessly bridge traditional banking and digital markets through stable coins, commodities, fx and RWAs. Imagine the global settlement power of SWIFT, but modernized for real-time, regulated digital asset transactions.

Role Description

We're looking for a Senior Blockchain Developer to work on our blockchain infrastructure team. This is a full-time role

Who we are looking for

We’re hiring a Senior Blockchain Developer to join our blockchain infrastructure team. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and scaling our core chain architecture.

You’ll work directly on node infrastructure, consensus mechanisms, cross-chain systems, and protocol-level design alongside our application team.

Needed experience

  • Experience with blockchain node infrastructure, consensus mechanisms, and system design

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect blockchain solutions to meet business and technical requirements.
  • Lead the development and implementation of blockchain-based applications and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate blockchain technology into Global Settlement's payment platform.
  • Ensure the security, scalability, and performance of blockchain solutions.
  • Conduct research and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in blockchain technology.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for blockchain architectures and implementations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with blockchain solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
What You’ll Do
  • Design, build, and maintain blockchain node infrastructure and settlement protocol architecture
  • Implement and optimize consensus mechanisms (PoA, PoS, BFT variants) for enterprise-grade performance and finality
  • Architect cross-chain communication and bridging systems for multi-network interoperability
  • Collaborate with smart contract and application teams to deliver integrated blockchain solutions
  • Drive security, scalability, and reliability across all chain-level systems
  • Lead technical research on emerging protocols, L1/L2 architectures, and settlement patterns
  • Provide technical mentorship to developers across the engineering organization
  • Own documentation for blockchain architecture decisions, RFCs, and implementation standards
  • Participate in code reviews and establish best practices for infrastructure development
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years focused on blockchain development
  • Deep hands-on experience with blockchain node infrastructure, consensus algorithms, and protocol-level system design
  • Strong proficiency in one or more: Rust, Go, Solidity, Java, or Python
  • Working knowledge of blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, Cosmos, Hyperledger, or comparable L1/L2 networks
  • Solid understanding of cryptographic primitives, key management, and on-chain security practices
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Track record of shipping production blockchain infrastructure—not just smart contracts
Nice to Have
  • Experience with stablecoin systems, CBDC infrastructure, or RWA tokenization
  • Familiarity with cross-chain protocols
  • Background in financial services, payments, or regulated settlement systems
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in digital asset markets
Note: This is primarily a blockchain infrastructure role. Smart contract development is part of the work, but the core focus is on chain-level architecture, consensus, node operations, and cross-chain systems. If your experience is solely in smart contract development, this likely isn’t the right fit.

Why Join Global Settlement

  • Ground-floor opportunity to architect settlement infrastructure used by sovereign and enterprise clients
  • Direct impact on how digital assets move through the global financial system
  • Work at the intersection of blockchain infrastructure, traditional finance, and regulatory innovation
Join us at Global Settlement and help us build the future of digital payments through innovative blockchain solutions!
