Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Network Operations (Remote) Fastly 15 August 2025SRE DevOps Automation Networking BGPFastly is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Networking) to join our Technical Operations (TechOps) team. You will be responsible for building and operating the infrastructure that powers the Fastly Edge Cloud Platform, a global network spanning 6 continents. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our network, which serves a significant portion of the content delivered to internet consumers across the planet.What You'll Do:* Build, operate, and maintain Fastly's global network.* Respond to and lead network incidents, resolving complex failure scenarios related to IP routing and BGP.* Develop innovative methods for monitoring network performance and proactively address potential issues.* Contribute to the development of tools and automation systems to improve network operations.* Analyze network performance data and collaborate with partner teams to maintain a high-performing global network.* Advocate for operational stability and partner with engineering teams to shape roadmaps and software solutions.* Mentor team members on global routing complexities, especially in anycast environments.What We're Looking For:* Extensive experience with IP, BGP, Anycast, and DNS.* Proficiency with Tier 1 Internet service providers, Internet exchanges, and cloud providers.* Ability to analyze traffic patterns using flow-based tools.* Experience with alerting, monitoring, and visibility tools (e.g., Graphite/Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).* Scripting abilities in a common language such as Python.* Experience with Linux/Unix.* Knowledge of cloud hosting solutions (GCP, AWS, Azure).* Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Ansible).* Strong knowledge-sharing and documentation skills.* Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.Benefits:Fastly offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, family planning, mental health support, an Employee Assistance Program, life, disability, and accident insurance, flexible vacation policy, paid sick leave, 401(k) with company match, and an Employee Stock Purchase Program.
