Contract Surety Underwriting Manager – Tacoma, WA

Manage an underwriting team focused on contract surety underwriting for middle market to large accounts such as: Construction Contract Bonds; Bid Bonds; Performance Bonds; Payment Bonds; Maintenance Bonds, etc..

Responsibilities:

  • Provide agents and brokers with the surety bonds needed to meet client requests.
  • Develop relationships with customers, producers, agents, and reinsurers.
  • Review complex submissions, profitable premiums, account losses, and pricing models.
  • Assess bond applications to evaluate, classify, and rate each risk to determine acceptability and rating.
  • Analyze applicant financial statements, collateral, and related due diligence.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of insurance underwriting experience with a focus in contract or commercial surety
